GRAEF Provides Engineering for New Hospital in Mukwonago
ProHealth Care will open the city’s first hospital
Construction has begun on a new hospital to be developed by ProHealth Care in Mukwonago.
The three-story structure will be the city’s first hospital. It is being built on the site of an existing, two story medical campus at 240 Maple Ave.
GRAEF is providing the structural and civil engineering for the project, in addition to the landscape architecture.
Madison-based J.H, Findorff & Son Inc. is the general contractor and construction manager of the project. Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects is the designer of the 24-bed hospital.
ProHealth physicians and employees in Mukwonago joined community leaders, donors and others to mark the official start of construction on Feb. 6.
“Waukesha County is a wonderful place to live and work, and the people of ProHealth Care are privileged to care for our friends and neighbors here,” ProHealth Care CEO Susan Edwards said at the ceremony. “The project we’re celebrating today is part of our commitment to maintain a strong, vibrant and independent health care system that will provide outstanding care for people in Waukesha County and surrounding communities for many years to come.”
The hospital will provide a range of medical services in an environment designed to enhance healing and reduce stress. Local patients provided valuable input on the design of the facility.
The hospital will offer:
- A team of providers representing primary care and more than 30 medical specialties.
- 24/7 emergency services.
- Inpatient and outpatient surgery.
- Advanced diagnostic imaging.
- Outpatient services.
- Laboratory services.
- UW Health Cancer Center at ProHealth Care.
