Transportation project receives ACEC Honor Award GRAEF’S O’Hare office worked on award-winning interchange

GRAEF’s Chicago O’Hare office was a subcontractor on the redesign and reconstruction of the interchange between Interstate 90 and Barrington Road in Hoffman Estates, Ill., a project that recently received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Illinois.

GRAEF provided intersection and interchange design studies and contributed to the combined design report for the $60 million project, which also included a Park-n-Ride.

The award was presented in the transportation category at the ACEC Illinois Engineering Excellence Awards Dinner in Chicago.

The prime contractor for the award-winning project was Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) of Aurora, Ill. Partners in the project included the Village of Hoffman Estates, the Illinois Tollway, the Illinois Department of Transportation and PACE.
