Pat Kressin Answers Q&A of the Business of Golf
Pat Kressin, Chief Business Development Executive, has a lot of experience with golf courses both on and off the job. Kressin has worked on many golf courses and surrounding communities as part of his job at GRAEF. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an Evans Scholar, a Western Golf Association scholarship that provides full housing and tuition to deserving caddies.
Kressin recently participated in a Q&A session with the Milwaukee Business Journal, speaking on the importance of golf in developing business relationships.
Q: How have the designs of golf courses changed in recent years? “Many of the golf courses, even the recently constructed premium golf destinations, are being designed to be more playable by a larger percentage of the population with wider fairways and green complexes. There is also a growing trend with many of the country clubs and daily-fee courses to appeal to the entire family.”
Q: How do you use golf to network? “At Graef, we believe in developing relationships. Getting out of the office helps put everyone at ease and allows us to get to know each other, which helps to build the trust that we have built our business on.”
