Harley-Davidson Museum
The Harley-Davidson Museum draws an estimated 350,000 visitors annually from around the world to experience the people, products, culture and history of Harley-Davidson. In June 2006, Harley-Davidson launched construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on the 20-acre museum grounds at Sixth and Canal Streets in downtown Milwaukee. The development features 130,000 square feet of exhibit space as well as a restaurant, cafe, retail shop, meeting space, special events facilities and the company’s archives.
GRAEF was selected to provide the site/civil engineering services from initial site planning through construction. Services included evaluation of site suitability, assistance with the City approval process, investigation of utility adequacy, preliminary and final site grading and paving design, site utilities, and development of the storm water management plan.
The Harley-Davidson Museum opened in July 2008 and won Project of the Year Real Estate Awards 2009 from the Business Journal.
