Beaver Dam Community Hospital

Beaver Dam Community Hospital has outgrown its current facility and is in the process of constructing a $42 million replacement hospital on its existing campus. The hospital board felt they needed a new facility to accommodate changes in health care technology and provide a higher level of patient comfort and convenience.
GRAEF is providing structural engineering for the 3-story, 212,000 square-foot facility. The structure consists of composite steel beams and a conventional steel frame with a combination of concrete shear walls and moment frames for lateral bracing.

GRAEF is developing plans using 3-D drafting on this project. The structural engineers and technicians collaborated on converting a 3-D analysis model into a 3-D CADD model, which was used to develop final structural plans. The 3-D models were also used for presentation purposes throughout the design process.
