Wisconsin Lutheran College Athletic Fields

GRAEF provided site/civil engineering, wetland delineation and permitting, and construction staking services for this new outdoor athletic facility for Wisconsin Lutheran College located on the Milwaukee County grounds.

The project included a grass-like artificial turf football stadium, running track, NCAA regulation size baseball, softball, and soccer fields, soccer practice area, field event areas, and a football practice field. Seating for the football field is provided for up to 3,500 spectators with a parking area for 312 vehicles.

The irregularly shaped parcel and considerable grade change provided the design team with significant grading and layout challenges to accommodate the required sports venues. To accommodate these venues, multiple retaining walls were installed to allow for the required grade change while minimizing the impact to the adjacent mature trees. GRAEF staff also designed sanitary sewer and water main extensions for the project, storm water management, and field under drainage. The finished project provides a truly unique athletic field venue.

This long-awaited project now provides a nearby home for Wisconsin Lutheran College’s full compliment of NCAA Division III sports teams.
