Carroll University Stadium Upgrade

GRAEF provided engineering services to Carroll University for all phases of a three-year Building Champions Campaign to upgrade athletic and recreation facilities.

Phase 1 was the reconstruction of Schneider Stadium which involved upgrading the existing natural grass playing surface to a grass-like artificial turf. The field was also enlarged to meet minimum NCAA size requirements and regulations while preserving the existing grandstands bordering the west side of the field. GRAEF provided layout and grading of the athletic field and the design of a retaining wall, field underdrain system, fencing, and landscaping.

Phase 2 included the 14,000 square foot Quad/Graphics Team Center at the north end of the stadium. The building includes three locker rooms, a training room, concessions and ticket area, public restrooms and a spectator mezzanine. A plaza at the east end honors Carroll student-athletes, coaches and loved-ones with engraved bricks. GRAEF provided full service engineering design for the building and surrounding site.

Phase 3, the Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex, was completed just west of Schneider Stadium in the summer of 2007. The eight-lane, 400-meter track has a natural turf infield for field events and a world-class track surface for a safer, shock-absorbing cushion for athletes. GRAEF provided layout and engineering design of the entire complex that replaced the existing Physical Plant and vacant buildings, creating an exciting new campus border.
