Northcentral Technical College Health Sciences Center
GRAEF provided sustainable design consulting and structural engineering for this 130,000 square foot $23 million health sciences center, which houses all of the college’s health occupations programs.
The building is a four-story steel frame structure designed for a future partial one story vertical expansion. The facility contains offices, classrooms, three large lecture halls, auditorium, dental labs, grand stair and atrium.
The college sought and was awarded a LEED® Silver certification for this project in order to enhance its progressive state of the art learning environment, demonstrate its commitment to environmental stewardship and reduce building life-cycle costs. In order to achieve the desired level of certification, GRAEF provided feasibility studies, sustainable design guidelines, ongoing performance benchmarking, storm water and plant material analysis to the owner.
