TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
University of South Florida Track and Field Complex
GRAEF teamed with Hunt Construction Group, Wager Murray Architects and Mondo USA to provide complete design/build services to renovate the track and field facilities at the University’s Tampa Campus. The new replacement track is a 400 meter, eight lane running track with 48-inch wide lanes, featuring a Mondo Super X, 14mm surface surrounding the existing multi-purpose natural turf athletic field which has also been upgraded to address current design standards.
The Mondo Super X, 14 mm surface was also specified for installation in the two “D” zone areas that will be used for javelin, pole vault, long jump and high jump. Accommodations for other field events, including shot put, discus throw, hammer throw and steeple chase were provided as part of GRAEF design services to USF.
