Rite-Hite YMCA Wheaton Franciscan Healthy Lifestyle Village

The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare partnered to create a Healthy Lifestyle Village in Brown Deer, WI, the first of its kind in the state. The Village consists of a new 60,000 square foot outpatient center adjoining to an existing YMCA, which was completely renovated. The renovation included locker rooms and showers, expansion of the adult fitness center, and the addition of a new lobby, multi-purpose room and indoor track.

GRAEF provided site/civil engineering and landscape design for the entire campus and structural and MEP engineering services for the YMCA renovation.

Site/civil engineers provided site grading and stormwater management for the 13-acre development. Design work included underground and aboveground detention facilities and conveyance systems. Site challenges included site development within the 100-year floodplain. GRAEF designed new plumbing systems for the enlarged shower and locker rooms and provided new connections for the remodeled pool. HVAC systems were upgraded to serve the locker rooms, gymnasium, exercise areas, and the café area.

The Healthy Lifestyle Village offers joint programming including health screenings, community health and wellness education, outpatient therapy and rehabilitation and shared use of fitness equipment.
